Digital technologies enable us to converge knowhow of 60 years of education and to run for another 60 years with an unshakable faith.

Footsteps of Educational Foundation Wonkwang School

In 1946, when the educational environment was struggling due to the difficulties of the times, Wonkwang School, which started out as Yuil School, was the new private school in Korea’s modern education history.
Wonkwang has partaken in making the Korean Peninsula’s history since its independence - Nurturing talented people with knowledge and virtue has been Wonkwang School’s mission for the last 60 years.
140,000 fervent Wonkwang students have ushered in a new era and are writing a new history in various areas. As the future unfolds, Wonkwang’s pride will continue to grow on the world stage.

1946 - UIL School opened
1953 - Wonkwang College established
1965 - Educational Foundation Wonkwang School established
1971 - Elevated to Wonkwang Universit
1976 - Wonkwang Health Science University established
1977 - Wonkwang University College of Oriental Medicine, Kwangju Oriental Medicine Hospital open
1984 - Wonkwang Medical Center opened
1991 - Soongsan Memorial Hall opened
2002 - Wonkwang Digital University established
2009 - Graduate School of Law opened

Footsteps of Wonkwang Digital University

Wonkwang Digital University was established in 2002 following the 60-year education history of Wonkwang School.
Even though Wonkwang just recently took its first steps in this direction, it has already become a representative leader among cyber universities in Korea.
